Canadian Assessment for Learning Conference at VIU on April 10-11, 2015

Attend and join many educators (from BC and other places in Canada), including Growing Innovation project leaders, who are wrestling with making formative assessment-related shifts in their praxis.

From the CAfLN Conference announcement:

Canadian Assessment for Learning Network, welcomes you to register for our second annual Network Symposium and Conference to be held at the Coast Bastion Hotel, in Nanaimo, B.C on Friday evening April 10 and Saturday April 11, 2015. We are fortunate to welcome Damian Cooper, Lorna Earl and Ken O’Connor, the network founders, to present their ideas and support as to how to continue moving forward with communicating student learning through assessment.

We are hosting presentations featuring Jan Unwin from the Ministry of Education, offering perspectives on current developments at the BC Ministry of Education in curriculum and assessment as well as Shannon Hagen from School District #72 who will share her district’s perspective on their ePortfolio and reporting innovations. There will also be a variety of breakout sessions and a panel of K-12 students talking about their perspectives on assessment and learning.

If you are interested in being involved in CAfLN in an ongoing way, we invite you to purchase a membership, which will include attendance at the Member’s Symposium to take place during the day of April 10th at Vancouver Island University.

Please see the conference flyer (.pdf) and join us at our CAfLN website where you can access information to register for the conference as well as find additional information regarding the nature of our day and a half together.
